Universal Health Care Is Not The Only Solution!

The current health care debate seems to assume some kind of "government" run program is the best option to rein in rising health care costs that are threatening not only the financial health of millions of Americans, but their physical health as well.

The current health care debate seems to assume some kind of "government" run program is the best option to rein in rising health care costs that are threatening not only the financial health of millions of Americans, but their physical health as well.

The only voices being heard, thanks to a biased news media, are those in our population that seem to think "health insurance" is an American "right" and thus the responsibility of our politicians to provide it. And of course the politician's voices are telling us they can and will provide a government run health care program even though they have no clue of how to do it and worse, they are telling us the costs can be contained which history proves is a bold-faced lie.

Not included in the debate is the fact that "universal" health care has never worked anywhere in the world it has been tried. If anything, "universal" health care around the world has made getting good health care an impossibility everywhere it has been tried.

Rather than being very wordy with my answer and going on and on about how bad universal health care is, let me give you a real life example of what can happen with any government run health care program.

The person who told me about this incident lived it and participated in it as well. This person married a woman from the Dominican Republic. On a visit to the island country his father-in-law became ill and needed medical treatment.

He was taken to the hospital where treatments were to be paid by the government. That day the hospital was very busy and the patient was told he could not be treated "today" and would have to come back another time. Because the gentleman was very ill, his son-law began talking to the doctors and nurses and learned he could facilitate treatment if he paid money (which you and I know as a BRIBE), whereupon he paid the money and the patient was treated. Do not for a minute think this is an isolated incident.

Be careful what you wish for. Let me know what you think about this question and the answer.

Within this blog and others I will be taking part in I want to hear from YOU any questions you may have about health care. In my life time I have seen both "universal" and "free-enterprise" health care systems and am anxious to participate in the debate because I am absolutely convinced embracing "free-enterprise" health care is the only way we can have a viable and affordable health care system.

Citizens of this country, and the world, need to know what health care really is and not just what they hope it will be. To facilitate the debate we are launching a campaign utilizing the Internet and the vast resources now available. If you agree with us you can participate by helping to finance the effort as we can only go as far as our resources will let us. Our plans are many fold;

1) we will be an advocate for health care programs based on "free-enterprise" principles and totally devoid of ANY government intervention,

2) we will be an advocate for a doctor friendly health care system,

3) we will be an advocate for businesses, both large and small, to be freed from health care responsibilities,

4) we will attempt to establish learning centers for politicians, and future politicians, to learn how to save our tax dollars instead of seeing how many of our tax dollars they can spend,

5) for those weak citizens with their hands held out and expecting government to provide for them, we will work for YOU because we know you will have better care with our approach than any government run program could ever provide, and

6) we will continue to expand our efforts as long as we have the resources and the energy.

Let's have a healthy debate about health care, not one made up of biased sound bites fed us through biased news media outlets. Instead, let's exchange ideas to help people around the world understand that health care provided by government IS NOT FREE.

Here is a newsflash for all to hear, a government does not have any money with which to provide us with health care, or anything else for that matter, unless they first take the money from us in the form of TAXES, LICENSES, or FEES. A government run health care system is fertile ground for abuse, inferior medical care, rationing, and corruption. Today in this country, 90% of our health care resources as used up by only 10% of our population.

Be careful what you ask for!
